Among Elephants: It was actually this book by Iain Douglas Hamilton that started everything. I bought it second hand at OXFAM‘s just by chance. After I finished reading, I immediately started my own research on elephants, because I was completely fascinated by their intensiv social life and their intelligent ways of life. The book touched me and opened my heart for elephants. More over I was keen about Douglas-Hamiltons creative and integrative way of research and about how he lived his life as a scientist in the wilderness. Would I have met this book earlier in my life, I probably would have studied Biology.
